Ravi

Ravi is a professional rock drummer and teacher with over 25 years of experience performing and recording across the international music scene. His career has taken him across Europe, the USA and Japan, performing with alternative rock band My Vitriol and alt-prog group Pure Reason Revolution, as well as sharing stages with artists including Muse, Placebo, Manic Street Preachers, Ash and Deftones. He has also collaborated with musicians associated with The Cure, Julian Cope and The Prodigy.

Alongside extensive touring and studio work, Ravi has performed at major festivals including Glastonbury and Reading, appeared on BBC’s Top of the Pops, and had music featured on international television, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He is also an official endorsee of Yamaha Drums, Paiste Cymbals and the London Drumstick Company.

Ravi began teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic and has since developed a genuine and steadily growing passion for it. He enjoys helping students build confidence, develop strong musical foundations and bring out the best in their playing.

His lessons are carefully tailored to each individual and supported by his own structured worksheets and learning materials, designed to make progress clear, engaging and achievable. Whether working with complete beginners or more advanced players, Ravi focuses on developing solid technique alongside musicality and confidence.

Ravi teaches students of all ages and abilities from his home teaching studio in North London. He teaches the Trinity College London Rock & Pop syllabus and is also able to support students studying GCSE and A-Level Music.

His students consistently achieve excellent results in graded examinations, with every student attaining either a Merit or Distinction, and the majority achieving Distinctions. Known for his friendly and encouraging approach, Ravi works closely with each student to help them progress at their own pace and bring out the best in their playing.

For Ravi, teaching has grown into one of the most rewarding parts of his career, shaped but the enjoyment he finds in helping students develop and progress, and creating a space where they can feel confident in their playing.
