Ruby is an accomplished vocal coach, piano teacher, and educator who has worked with students of all ages, from young singers in youth choirs and primary school workshops to one-on-one music students. She has experience working with children individually and in groups, including those aged four and up. Her teaching approach is centered around building creativity and confidence, helping each student discover their unique musical voice.
Trained at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance under Linda Hirst and later at Goldsmiths, University of London with Tueta Koco, Ruby also brings a rich background in classical and contemporary voice. Her studies have included time with renowned educators such as Matteo Dalle Fratte at the Melofonetica Opera Summer School and vocalist Nina Guo, inspiring Ruby’s passion for improvisation and new music.
Ruby’s lessons cover a wide range of styles, from classical and contemporary to musical theatre, jazz, folk, and pop. Her inclusive and student-centered teaching style adapts to each student’s aspirations, whether they’re aiming to progress through graded exams, build music theory skills, or simply explore their love of music.
As a performer, Ruby has appeared in Cosi Fan Tutte opera scenes, soloed at Arte Lirica Festival in Italy, and presented her own compositions at diverse venues like the Blessings of the Beasts Festival and The George Tavern. Her experience spans from chamber choir performances with the New London Chamber Choir to experimental collaborations with Electric Voice Theatre and The Listening Project.
