Billy Crabbe has been an active member of the music industry as a music producer, artist and educator for the past ten years.
As a Berklee College of Music graduate, he has had the opportunity to study under some of the top guitar professors such as Scott Tarulli (Steve Gadd, Meatloaf), Jim Peterson (Colour Blind, Lalah Hathaway), David Tronzo (David Sanborn, Warren Haynes) amongst others. Billy has also attended many clinics featuring artists such as Steve Morse (guitarist of Deep Purple), Tommy Emmanuel (guitarist), Paul Simon (guitarist/ songwriter) and John Mayer. In 2013 he graduated with a BA in Guitar Performance which provided him with an in-depth education in music theory, performance and an understanding of the guitar as an instrument.
“My experience lies in teaching students of all ages and levels covering a variety of contemporary styles with a primary focus on pop, blues/rock and jazz. My lessons are aimed towards developing a deep understanding of the fretboard through note recognition and sight-reading exercises, as well as, working through pieces that allow the student to work on their performance.”
His years of teaching experience have taught him how to break down the theory into easy-to-understand concepts, and his passion for music ensures that lessons are fun and engaging as well. Following the ABRSM Discovering Music Theory and Berklee method books and courses, your lessons are focused on developing an understanding of the basics and advanced concepts in an easy and methodical way. With a focus on note recognition, scales, harmony, melody, rhythm, and composition, you'll be building a strong music theory foundation.
