Adam is a drummer, educator, and performer with over 20 years of teaching experience, who has shared his love of drumming with hundreds of students of all ages and abilities. After picking up the sticks at 12, he began teaching formally at 16—and hasn’t looked back since. A member of the Independent Society of Musicians with Registered Private Teacher status, Adam brings both professionalism and a genuine passion for inspiring others.

Since graduating with a first-class music degree from Newcastle University—including a year abroad studying jazz in Montréal—Adam has toured across four continents and recorded in genres spanning folk, neo-soul, jazz, indie, street theatre, and experimental rock. His performing and recording experience directly informs his teaching, helping students connect with music creatively, technically, and emotionally.

Adam delivers tailored lessons for beginners to advanced students, of all ages, focusing on real-world application from the very first lesson. He encourages improvisation, exploring different styles from jazz and Afro-Cuban to drum ’n’ bass and indie, and supports students in building technique, timing, and confidence.

Trained as a music leader, Adam has also led workshops for SEND adults and disadvantaged youth, combining his love of teaching with a commitment to inclusive, engaging music-making.

Every lesson comes with personalised notes, exercises, and resources to help students continue practising independently, guiding them to grow and enjoy every step of the musical journey. Whether for exams, performance, or just for fun, Adam is ready to help.
