Connor is a passionate clarinettist and bass clarinettist who loves sharing his enthusiasm for music with students of all ages. He takes a flexible, student-centred approach, tailoring lessons to each learner’s goals and helping them develop both their technical skills and their own musical voice. Drawing on extensive orchestral, chamber, and contemporary performance experience, he brings a wide-ranging repertoire to his teaching, inspiring creativity, versatility, and curiosity in every lesson.

He has taught privately one-to-one on clarinet and saxophone, accompanied ABRSM exams, and participated in outreach programmes such as the Royal College of Music Sparks Sessions and HMDT Music Box. He is also a staff member of the RCM Junior Department, where he enjoys introducing young musicians to the joy of ensemble playing and musical discovery.

Connor studied at the Royal College of Music, where he earned a Bachelor of Music (First Class Honours) and is currently completing his Master of Performance as a Headley Trust Scholar. He also trained at Aldeburgh Young Musicians and was a member of the Suffolk Youth Orchestra.

His orchestral and chamber music experience is extensive, having played principal and solo roles with ensembles including the Covent Garden Sinfonia, Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, Liberata Collective, Albion Orchestra, RCM Symphony Orchestra, and RCM New Perspectives. He has also performed in professional opera productions with Hampstead Garden Opera and participated in prestigious schemes such as the English National Opera Evolve Scheme.

Through his teaching, Connor strives to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel supported, motivated, and connected to the joy of music-making. He aims to nurture each student’s unique musical voice while guiding them towards achieving their personal goals, whether preparing for exams, exploring contemporary repertoire, or simply discovering the pleasures of playing music.
