Dominic is an award-nominated violinist, composer, and educator who brings warmth, creativity, and versatility into every lesson. He teaches students of all ages, from the very young through to advanced players, and also offers beginner piano lessons. With a flexible and student-focused approach, Dominic helps each learner develop at their own pace-supporting graded exams where helpful, while always encouraging creativity, musicality, and personal expression.

A Unique Blend of Classical and Jazz
A classically trained violinist and graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Dominic combines academic depth with real-world performing experience. Drawing from his jazz background, he places strong emphasis on listening, learning by ear, and developing improvisational skills. Lessons are fun and motivating, with a clear structure that leaves students knowing exactly what to work on between sessions. He's equally at home teaching classical repertoire, jazz, or a blend of both.

Experience and Teaching Roles
Dominic currently teaches violin at Chetham's School of Music and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. He has led workshops, chamber coaching, and improvisation masterclasses at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Trinity Laban, RNCM, Aldeburgh Young Musicians, and the Yehudi Menuhin School. He also spent several years teaching across London with the Tri-borough Music Hub, offering 1-1 lessons, ensemble leadership, and whole-class music education in primary schools.

Performer & Composer
Dominic performs regularly at major venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican, Ronnie Scott's, and The Vortex. His quintet's debut album Role Models received critical acclaim and airplay on BBC Radio 3 and Jazz FM. He has toured across the UK and Europe with Bonsai and the Jonny Mansfield Ensemble, and composed new works for string ensembles at Chetham's in collaboration with Oslo's Barratt Due Institute. He was a semi-finalist in the Zbigniew Seifert International Jazz Violin Competition and a Parliamentary Jazz Award nominee.
Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time, returning after a break, or looking to deepen your skills, Dominic brings care, insight and enthusiasm to every lesson-and will meet you wherever you are on your musical journey.
