Lesley

Lesley Keller is a passionate and dedicated instrumental teacher who loves helping students unlock their musical potential. She teaches piano, trumpet, brass, woodwind, and music theory, bringing decades of experience and a warm, encouraging approach to every lesson.

Lesley began her musical journey on trumpet, studying with Steven Cobb before earning a place at the Purcell School of Music, where she trained with David Mason and gained a rich grounding in orchestral performance, chamber music, choral training, and composition. She went on to the Royal College of Music, studying with James Watson and graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree. Alongside her trumpet studies, she developed her piano playing, which has become an equally important part of her teaching career. While her early training was rooted in trumpet, over the years Lesley has also developed a deep love of teaching piano, finding that it offers students a creative and expressive pathway into music-making.

For more than twenty years, Lesley has taught in schools and privately, inspiring students of all ages and levels. Her teaching combines structured technical work with varied repertoire, encouraging musicality, confidence, and enjoyment. She is known for creating lessons that are both focused and fun, tailoring her approach to meet each student’s needs.

Alongside her teaching, Lesley has conducted ensembles, organised concerts, and prepared students for ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall exams. Her breadth of expertise in brass, woodwind, and piano, together with her ability to motivate and support students, makes her a valued and much-loved teacher.

Whether students are picking up an instrument for the first time or aiming to refine advanced skills, Lesley provides an inspiring, supportive, and enriching environment where every student can flourish and enjoy the journey of making music.
