Noam is a passionate and dedicated music educator with nine years of teaching experience, working with students from age 5 through to advanced level. He takes a student-focused approach to lessons, adapting his teaching to each student’s interests, age and experience while making sure they develop strong musical foundations. Alongside his private teaching, Noam has extensive experience working with children and young people in group settings, including leading educational programmes, residential camps and youth leadership programmes.
Noam teaches drum kit, unpitched percussion and piano, and has experience preparing students for ABRSM, Trinity and Rock & Pop examinations. He also supports students with school music, GCSE and A-level Music, composition and music theory. Whether a student is working towards a particular goal or learning simply for enjoyment, he aims to make lessons engaging, encouraging and suited to the individual.
Alongside teaching, Noam works as a freelance performer, composer and arranger, with a particular background in jazz. He has an impressive musical and academic background which he draws on in his teaching, having studied Music at the University of Cambridge before completing an MA in Jazz Performance and Composition with Distinction at the Royal Academy of Music. He was also awarded a distinction in the Specialist Music Teaching Course (LRAM), and has been a Guest Lecturer at the Faculty of Music at the University of Cambridge, teaching practical musicianship seminars on rhythm and polyrhythms to undergraduate Music students. His musical achievements include winning the Dankworth Prize for Small Ensemble Composition in 2025 and being a semi-finalist in the BBC Young Jazz Musician 2022 competition.
