Elena is a concert pianist, chamber musician, and piano teacher based in London, with 17 years of teaching experience. She is passionate about creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for her students, ensuring they enjoy their lessons while progressing to the highest standard. Whether teaching beginners or advanced students, Elena tailors her lessons to each individual, incorporating creative activities such as art, music theory games, and listening exercises to make learning both comprehensive and fun.
Elena’s students have achieved impressive results, from excelling in ABRSM piano and theory exams to winning prizes in local and international competitions. She has also successfully prepared students for conservatoire auditions and 11+ music scholarships, with one earning a place at Dulwich College and another securing a scholarship at Trinity Laban Conservatoire.
An accomplished musician, Elena is dedicated to her own performance career. Teaming up with Norwegian violinist Elisabeth Turmo, she recently released a CD on Quartz, inspired by myths and legends. Elena’s accolades include 1st prize at the Nikolai Rubinstein International Competition in Paris, and she was a semi-finalist in the Gershwin International Piano Competition in New York.
Elena holds a Master of Performance degree from the Royal College of Music, where she studied under Norma Fisher. She has performed at prestigious venues, including the Rachmaninov Hall in Moscow, Salzburg Wiener Saal, and St. Martin-in-the-Fields. A passionate advocate for underperformed music, she has delivered inspiring performances, such as her rendition of Prokofiev’s Five Poems of Anna Akhmatova, described by Musical Opinion Magazine as ‘an inspiring performance.’
